My Holiday Playlist

It’s the holiday season! Our house is fully decorated, smells and sounds like the holidays and it’s bringing me so much joy. This weekend we also sat down with Roux to teach him about the Advent Wreath which symbolizes hope, love, joy, and peace. Creating our own little family traditions is something that is so important to me and watching his little brain take it all in makes it all worth it. I wanted to share the playlist we’ve been listening to on repeat as we decorate, cook, clean, and find our Elf on a Shelf [parents know] 🤪 .

I’m also sharing my favorite simmer pot recipe that I have been making on repeat because I cannot get enough of the holiday smells! Check it out below.

Homemade Simmer Pot

  • 1.5 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1-3 tangerines, halved
  • 3 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1 inch pinch of ginger
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 3 whole cinnamon sticks
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1 tsp vanille bean extract
  • 2 star anise
  • fill post 3/4 full of water

I usually let the pot simmer for 3 hours. It makes the house smell magical. You can then let it cool and refill ingredients as needed until you need to start over.

P.S. if you’re still holiday shopping, don’t forget to check out my Gift Guides for him and her!
